This action match incorporates procedures similar to those used in IDPA action shooting. This is an exciting event which both tests and trains shooters in the fundamentals of action shooting.
A minimum of three scenarios will be run, all short range, requiring magazine changes, generally limited to 12 rounds fired per scenario.
Classes:
- Major Caliber
- Minor Caliber
- Ladies and Youth, as needed.
.22 caliber may be used by Ladies and Youth for score. Men may use .22 caliber for participation, but not for score.
Rule details will evolve with participant input, and details and questions covered at the matches.
All scores will be tallied at the event, and medals and gift certificates will be awarded at the finish of the match.
Equipment:
A rifle and minimum of 2 magazines (3 are recommended, particularly for lower capacity magazines). Firearms restrictions will be less strict than IDPA, but generally will need to be an arm suitable for carry and self defense utilization. Full details will be established at the matches.
Prizes:
Medals for class winners and runner-ups, $20 gift certificate to overall winner.
Fees:
The entry fee is $10, which allows the shooter to shoot as described above. There are no other fees except cost of ammo purchased at the range.
Standard safety rules will be enforced, with no exceptions:
-NO FIREARMS HANDLED UNTIL YOU ARE CALLED TO SHOOT
-KEEP YOUR MUZZLE POINTED DOWN RANGE AT ALL TIMES
-KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER EXCEPT WHEN ENGAGING A TARGET
THE MATCH DIRECTOR WILL ISSUE ALL COMMANDS TO LOAD, FIRE, AND CEASE FIRE.
