Introduction to Training
Allen Arms Indoor Shooting Range offers
a variety of classes and competition events for everyone from
beginner to expert.
At Allen Arms Indoor Range, all training will be conducted by experience, certified, and established instructors using the appropriate facilities to teach the courses in their areas of expertise and qualifications.
Participation in classes requires that you are legally able to possess the required firearm used in the class (whether you supply your own or rent), and that you be of proper age to legally participate in the class. Some classes may require a legal guardian be present for attendees less than 18 or 21 years old.
The Class Descriptions detail the nature of the courses, as well as any prerequisite courses, fees, the appropriate firearms, and any special equipment needed to complete the course. All courses involving shooting will require basic safety equipment such as eye and ear protection (see Range Safety Rules). Please familiarize yourself with the course descriptions and range safety rules prior to registering for training, and again prior to attending so there will be no surprises or disappointments.
Successful completion of courses is not guaranteed. it is dependent on the attendee's efforts and learning ability, as well as response to the instructions and the adherence of basic safety rules (see Range Safety Rules). Those who fail to complete the training for whatever reason may be permitted to retake the course at no, or a reduced, cost, depending totally on the decision of the course instructor and the reason for non-completion. All attendees completing their training will be awarded free range time to practice their new skills. Refresher training may be available at reduced rates or at no cost, again at the option of the individual instructor.
Some courses may require the use of facilities outside of Allen Arms, such as shotgun and advanced rifle and competition courses. Those courses may be weather dependent. Those situations will be covered in the Course Descriptions as well.
Any courses you are interested in that are not listed may be arranged. Our training associates are qualified in a broad range of subjects. Please contact us and let us try to schedule them for you. The list will see additions as we become more established. Frequency of classes will depend on interest level from the public, so please contact us.
Private classes and/or group rates are available for groups of ten or more, either as a 10% discount or one free attendance to the organizer. These are particularly good for church, club and company groups. Please contact us to arrange these programs. These classes may be in women or youth only, or other special formats if desired. Family rates are also available for some courses. Please see the Course Descriptions.
Please remember that adult attendees need current valid ID, and adults and children will need a SSN for Hunter and Boater Ed. See Class Descriptions for details.
Registration is by US Mail only. Please click here for the Registration Form page.
The Range offers a comfortable lounge area and rest rooms, and a number of excellent convenient locations to obtain food. Please note that consumption of food or beverages is not allowed anywhere in the range except for snacks obtained in the lounge area.
