- Purpose of Course- Developed by Master Rated IDPA shooter Mike Sexton, this course is designed to prepare interested shooters in one of the hottest new areas of competition, and one that has definite applications to real life situations. We will covered the basics of safe and effective handling, reloading, and shooting a defensive shotgun in close quarter situations. Areas of specific interest will be assessing and responding to situations, use of cover and concealment, shooting while moving, and other skills and techniques used in competition.
- Age Requirements- 18 minimum.
- Prerequisites- Basic working knowledge of your shotgun.
- Time- 4 hours.
- Equipment Needed- Magazine fed shotgun, any sighting equipment except lasers, 200 rounds of #71/2 or smaller shot, some method of retaining extra shells on your person and reloading, eye and ear proection, OBI, and drivers license. Any equipment needed may be obtained from the range on a rental basis. Firearms can be provided by the range free of charge.
- Activities Involved- A 30 minute classroom session, followed by an extensive shooting session, in both group and individual exercises.
- Maximum enrollment- 8.
- Other Information- Graduates will be awarded one free range session.
- Cost- $70
EQUIPMENT FOR ALL CLASSES- All equipment needed can be provided by the range at no charge, except ammunition. Ammunition may be purchased at the range.
