INTRODUCTION TO TACTICAL RIFLE

• Purpose of Course- Developed by Master IDPA shooter Mike Sexton, this course is designed to prepare interested shooters in one of the hottest new areas of competition, and one that has definite applications to real life situations. We will covered the basics of safe and effective handling, reloading, and shooting a carbine in close quarter situations. Areas of specific interest will be assessing and responding to situations, use of cover and concealment, shooting while moving, and other skills and techniques used in competition.
• Age Requirements- 18 minimum.Prerequisites-Basic working knowledge of the firearm.
• Time- 4 hours.
• Equipment Needed- A magazine fed carbine, limited to 5.56/7.62X39 or pistol calibers, at least 300 rounds of ammunition, minimum of two spare magazines (30 round recommended) , means or carrying those on your person. Any sighting equipment is OK except lasers. Ammo may not be steel core, armor piercing, tracer or incendiary. No slings, please.Standard eye and ear protection, OBIs, and drivers license. Any of the equipment may be obtained at the range on a rental basis if needed.
• Activities Involved- 30 minute class session, followed by extensive shooting session, in both group and individual exercises.
• Maximum enrollment- 8.
• Other Information- Graduates receive 1 free range session.
